Hokusai ...born on the 23rd day of 9th month of the 10th year of the Hōreki period (October or November 1760) to an artisan family, in the Katsushika district of Edo, Japan. A very well-known woodblock print artist. Look at Hokusai's landscapes and their composition, perspective and negative and positive space.

 

Hiroshige - Utagawa Hiroshige, born Andō Hiroshige, was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist. (ukiyo-e means 'artist of the floating world'; and this term was actually associated with the night-life in Edo; although today it is a term often mistakenly associated with Japanese prints more generally.)

 

Eric Gaskell - Born in Wigan, England, in 1957, Eric studied painting and printmaking at Wigan College and Sunderland University. He has been making and exhibiting since 1980...
