About lino-reduction printmaking

Lino-reduction is a 'relief' printmaking technique which involves carving into a piece of lino, using special cutting tools; and then using the carved lino to print different colour layers of ink, layer by layer, onto paper, to build up an image. The same piece of lino is used throughout the process and each time the lino is cut, the amount remaining 'reduces', hence the term 'lino-reduction'. Watch the video below to see each stage of the process.
